Designer Tommy Hilfiger and his model-turned-financier wife Dee Ocleppo have made a whopping $19 million profit by selling their Aspen mansion for $50 million just three months after buying it as a 'legacy property' for their family.
Hilfiger, 71, and Ocleppo, 55, didn't initially intend to sell the slopeside property (pictured) located on the Little Nell ski trail on Aspen Mountain. They had just bought it in December for $30.9 million, The Wall Street Journal reported.

But the buyer's irresistible $50 million-offer convinced them to say goodbye to what they once thought would be a forever home. 'I guess everything has a price, and with a limited inventory you've got to get creative,' Steven Shane of real-estate brokerage Compass, which represented both the Hilfigers and the buyer, told Aspen Times.
The 7,150-square-foot property boasts seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms and numerous rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows to contemplate Aspen's breathtaking sunsets and sunrises. 'The fact of the matter is, Tommy and Dee had no intention of buying and flipping the property,' Shane said.

'This was going to be a legacy property for their children, their children's children, for years to come.' 'So I asked Tommy and Dee if they would consider selling it, and they said it would have to be a very attractive price.'
According to Aspen Times, the city had 59.6 percent less inventory of single-family homes for sale in February than during the same period last year.

'I spoke with the buyer's team and Office 365 said we can pry this away from the existing homeowner, but it's going to take a significant price for them to consider it. And after a couple of conversations back and forth, we agreed to a price,' Shane added.
Before the home was purchased by the Hilfigers, the Poss-designed ski property was 'owned by the same family since the 1950s,' with three generations of many kids having enjoyed the 'ski-out-the-door, drop-in-to-town,' according to the listing.

Hidden between pine trees just above the base of Aspen Mountain, the lavish property allows owners and guests to appreciate all things outdoors.
Those who spend the winter in the property can enjoy hot cocoa from the deck's jacuzzi while appreciating the snow-covered Aspen mountains. An option for the warmer months is a barbecue gathering in the brick-styled patio (pictured).
The spacious living room features a vintage fireplace and details in warm colors that add to the homey ambiance and contrast with the blueish white of the snow outdoors.
The large kitchen features granite countertops and convenient island seating for more casual meals and snacks.
Meanwhile, Hilfiger's elegantly wood-paneled dining room highlights the home's old-school charms.
The eight bathrooms feature appliances in wood that complete the ski-in, ski-out experience and will surely warm up skiers after a day out in the cold.
The traditional master bedroom features a private bathroom and all the luxury guests can strive for.
The mansion also has numerous corners decorated with convenient furniture and cushions for intimate get-togethers or casual board games

After a long day skiing, the mansion's spacious rooms will offer much needed comfort.
The outdoor spaces are perfect for entertaining year round.
You can take the stairs and contemplate the mansion's beautiful interiors, or take the elevator and save your energy for skiing.
The property boasts seven bedrooms with warm tones to ensure a relaxing rest.
Hilfiger and Ocleppo met in 2005 while vacationing in Saint Tropez.

The couple went on to marry in 2008 and welcome their son, Sebastian Thomas Hilfiger in 2009. Before marrying Hilfiger, Ocleppo was married to Italian tennis player Gianni Ocleppo from 1997 to 2003, and had two children with him.
Hilfiger was married to his first wife, Susie Hilfiger (pictured), from 1980 to 2000, and had four children with her.
