BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from putting in an additional key or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

Like other immobilisers, The Ghost is different from other immobilisers. Ghost doesn't use LED indications or key-fobs. Instead, it uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to select a unique disarm sequence that you only are aware of.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for a period of 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuing to monitor your vehicle for signals from the ignition key, and when this is found it will keep running. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle whenever you hit the button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, does not require cutting OEM wires or add keys or alarms that are made by an aftermarket company. It is connected to your BMW's CAN network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code which is accessible through buttons in your car. This lets you enter the key push sequence that isn't found in the normal menus for media, like volume up/down, cruise control, source or turning on air conditioning that prevents your car from starting until it is entered. The PIN is between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to guess.

We can also include the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the ghost immobiliser price is hidden from the garage. You can activate this by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment device (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a market leading immobiliser that is designed to protect your vehicle from being stolen through key cloning and hacking. It works by utilising the factory buttons on your vehicle to create an unique sequence of presses that only you can recognize, similar to as the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's discreet, incredibly effective and deterrence for even the most determined thieves!

If you are parked at home or in a meet and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode, which allows you to start your car with your keys as normal but prevents the engine from starting again unless the proper code is entered. This is ideal for customers who have to hand their cars to valet businesses or other trusted friends & family members. This allows you to bring your vehicle to the garage for maintenance and maintenance, etc. without fearing that it might be tampered with by a mechanic while you wait.

When the service or valet mode is activated, it will block your BMW from being able to drive when it is first started. This stops anyone from testing the vehicle while you are away. When you return, it will be back to normal stopping your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen again.

The Ghost can be installed on any BMW. All you require are the correct keys as the device does not use the original remotes, but can be used with them. We can also supply an optional Bluetooth tag which can be used to disarm the Ghost by using an app for your smartphone (IOS & Android) or in the event that you don't own an iPhone or aren't happy with it just press the emergency card once. This is an extra cost and requires an additional Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

It is designed to prevent thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and then drive away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network, and utilizes the buttons on your vehicle (steering wheel, centre console and door panels) to create a unique push sequence which must be completed before the engine can be started.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. When the system determines that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it fails to identify the correct code it will also stop the engine (where it is). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without the need to enter PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW it can be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, so you can still use the navigation system in your car whilst the vehicle is parked and not being watched. If you own a smart-phone, you can also connect it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack feature and other functions.

The product is certified by Tassa and recognized by most insurance companies. It will reduce the chance of your pride and Joy being stolen. It is completely invisible and will not affect your vehicle's functionality. It does not require any special programming knowledge to install or use. Remote Control

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is helpful when you have to go somewhere in another location and valet or mechanic need to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn the car on by selecting drive and then quit service mode without needing keys. You can also view your vehicle's location in real-time on a map using your smartphone, ideal for tracking your car ghost immobiliser whilst moving around.

The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard or within the centre console, it is completely concealed and tamperproof and does not require extra wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is inserted into it. This pin code needs to be chosen before the vehicle starts. This prevents thieves from bypassing the system with the cloned or replaced ECU.

If your vehicle is stolen the Ghost will go into service mode and shut down all functions unless you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disarm it. This feature was developed to protect your vehicle from high-tech thieves who utilize relay boxes to steal it. It also prevents thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat nav system or mp3 player to locate your car!

Ghost can also stop 'Relay-style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most frequent method of stealing a car with a keyfob which has been cloned, or stolen through hacking. Ghost lets you stop this theft by installing a device called Secure-A Key in your vehicle.
